Aviation Ministry
Ministry Head:Â Perry Abrams
Start Date: May 2004
Ministry Vision Verse:Â “And of some have compassion, making a difference:” -Jude 22
Mission (Goal): Our desire for this ministry is to support the many ministries of our church and lend a helping hand to missionaries in bush Alaska where air travel is, many times, the only way in and out of their village.  As an infant ministry, our immediate focus is to create an avenue of which the Prison ministry and camps may be expanded.  As the ministry grows, we want to expand our abilities to aid missionaries with soul winning, preaching, and the transportation needs/costs associated with bush Alaska.
Impact Since Start:  It is difficult to calculate the impact of this ministry, as it is new to our church. However, we have seen missionaries in the field encouraged, helped plan kids camps in Tanana, and aided in the building projects of both McGrath and Unalakleet.
Difficulties To Deal With: One of the greatest difficulties to deal with is the basic necessity of fuel. Currently, aviation fuel is over $5.00 per gallon in the village that have aviation fuel. Spiritually, false religions have a death grip on much of bush Alaska, creating a very spiritually dark people. Environmentally, Alaska winters are cold, dark, and weather can be incredibly unpredictable, creating a very dangerous flying environment.
Special Notes (Things To Pray About): Pray earnestly that fuel prices will come down. The current aircraft is not meeting the needs of the ministry; please pray that God provides a larger aircraft capable of carrying more souls and cargo. Also, pray for God’s continued safety while traveling. Most of all, pray God will soften the hearts of the Alaskan people and that God would raise up deliverers for America.
