His Servant’s Bible Camp
Camp Director: Pastor Josh Roach
Established: 1983
Ministry Vision Verse: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” -Joshua 24:15
Mission (Goal): The ultimate goal of this camp is to see souls won to Christ at an early age; but, at the same time, encourage those that are already saved to fight the good fight of faith. We also want to show the world a sense of true Christianity, to include solid preaching mixed with a lot of fun. Our short-term goals are to offer a variety of camps, ministering to all Alaska not just those in our church. We foresee this camp exploding with potential as future plans are formulated - a multi-purpose facility, to include a full commercial kitchen, and complete bathroom facilities. We even desire to see a large RV park with complete hook-ups.
Impact Since Start: Since its origination by Pastor Stan Roach, a place of refuge has been established away from the world to revive those serving diligently in His service. This free camp has not only rejuvenated His servants, but has seen many souls saved, men called to preach, missionaries called, and others called to full time Christian service. In addition to the individual, countless families have been strengthened as a result of the family camps.
Difficulties To Deal With: Some of the difficulties we face pertain to the limited facilities, the Alaskan wildlife, and the unique Alaskan weather.
Special Notes (Things To Pray About): We ask prayer for wisdom in the purchase and erection of a large multi-purpose building to offer winter, as well as, summer camps. This would include a full kitchen, complete bathroom facilities, and a large meeting area able to accommodate daily chapel services and indoor activities. This facility would allow us to reach people of all ages throughout the year, instead of limited months during the summer.
