Patch the Pirate Club
Club Captain:Â Greg Jacobs
Start Date:Â September 1993
Ministry Vision Verse: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” -Colossians 3:16
Mission (Goal): While their parents are out doing door-to-door soul winning, we want to fill the hearts and minds of these young people with Godly songs and stories. With differing themes for devotions from month to month, we desire to foster excitement and hunger over the things of God. In addition, by the aid of their “Patch” books, we want to see a life-long commitment to practicing daily devotions: spending time each day in the Word of God and prayer. Finally, reinforced by the monthly club song, we yearn to see the monthly spiritual truth engrained in their lives,Â
Impact Since Start: The impact is far more reaching than what can be seen in the “Patch Room”. Children not only hear it at church, but are learning to practice what is preached throughout the week. Perhaps, the true impact of ministries of this sort will not be fully realized for years to come.
Difficulties To Deal With: As with any child, keeping them motivated to continue with their “homework”, is always a barrier to overcome. Having the imaginative ability to meet and reward these obstacles and accomplishments is continually pressing.
Special Notes (Things To Pray About): Please pray that the songs, stories, and most of all, the Word of God will lodge deeply within the hearts of these young people.  These children are the future citizens and leaders of America… God help them!
