Pioneer Home Ministry
Ministry Head:Â Tracy Tuttle
Start Date: 2002
Ministry Vision Verse:Â “And of some have compassion, making a difference:” -Jude 22
Mission (Goal): The focus of this ministry is to enrich the lives of the residents in some small way through the singing of hymns and to foster the memories of when they were young and served the Lord. Many of the residents remember their mothers and fathers singing the very same hymns in their homes and churches when they were growing up.
Impact Since Start: A ministry of this sort is different in the aspect that we have the same group each Saturday; but, they always participate. We ask for any favorites and they speak right up. One lady, whose father was a preacher in Eastern Oregon, recollects of being in church all her life. Occasionally, caregivers will walk through the meeting room, singing along as they go about their business.
Difficulties To Deal With:Â There aren’t really any difficulties, other than the need for another family to share the load.
Special Notes (Things To Pray About): Pray that another family would come on board, seeing the need to spend time with these elderly folks that, many times, people forget about. Secondly, pray that some of the staff may get saved through the messages of the songs we sing.
